Water Company Fee Card

Billing is every 2 months for the periods January/February, March/April, May/June, July/August, September/October, November/December, billed in March, May, July, September, November, and January.

The meters are generally read on the first day of the month after the period. However, due to the annual allocation system, every effort is made to read the meters as close to January 1 as possible.

Water rates are calculated to recover actual production costs of the water, including but not limited to electricity, labor, lab fees, chemicals, alarm service, system monitoring, office expenses, insurance, etc.

Assessments are calculated to fund maintenance, repair, and replacement costs for the water company infrastructure, including but not limited to buildings, sensors, wells and pumps, valves, mains, control systems, tanks, hydrants, vacuum/air reliefs, etc.

Standard Fees

Water per cubic foot, up to 53,000 cubic feet per year $0.0275/cubic foot

Assessment, per month $35 (billed as $70 every two months)

Penalty water rate, per cubic foot, above 53,000 cubic feet per year, $0.06/cubic foot (more than 2x penalty)

Late charge, per month, for each and every bill past 30 days overdue $15

Transfer fee, new lot owner/shareholder $50

Restore water service after shutoff for non-payment $100

Homeowners are responsible for the shutoff valve, their water meter and all pipes and plumbing on their property. Any repairs or modifications, including underground water lines for landscaping, fall under the homeowner’s jurisdiction. The IHMWC's responsibility is to provide water to the meter and usage beyond the meter is managed solely by the homeowner. IHMWC cannot be held responsible for excess water usage beyond the meter.

Should a water meter fail, replacement cost is $300 for the meter plus $300 labor.

When water meters fail, it can take multiple months to diagnose. You will be billed for estimated water usage to the time the meter was accurately measuring.

Unmeasured water usage is calculated based on your average for the same months in prior years.

Standard services of IHMWC shall be billed at a rate of $95.00 per hour with a 1 hr minimum.

Emergency services of IHMWC shall be billed at rate of $115.00 per hour with a 1 hr minimum.
